Mark O’Connell
Journalist, Essayist, and Literary Critic
Mark O'Connell is an Irish journalist, essayist, and literary critic. He is the author of To Be a Machine, which was shortlisted for both the Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction and the Royal Society Science Books Prize. He is a contributor to The New York Times Magazine, Slate, and The Guardian. He has a Ph.D. in English Literature from Trinity College Dublin. He lives in Dublin.
